BUSINESS AWARDS: TAKE YOUR COMPANY TO NEW HEIGHTS

Experiencing one of the best rewarding nights to date for Impulse Products after being selected as one of the finalist in the Telstra Business Awards, it got me thinking, business awards can help you build your brand and take your company to new heights. Consider the following scenario, you’re looking to buy grocery products from two different supermarkets. One supermarket has recently won a “freshest produce” award from a prominent magazine. The other grocery store hasn’t won any awards. If you’re looking to buy produce, which store are you more likely to go to? Even if you’re not looking to get produce, wouldn’t you rather buy your products from a company that excels in at least one aspect of their business? People have a natural tendency to assume that a company that excels in one area likely excels in others too.

Business awards are primarily about marketing. You can prominently display your award in all your advertising and show how you’re better than the competition. Moreover, awards need not necessarily be about your products. Winning awards such as “best employer” makes people feel more comfortable about buying from your business as opposed to other companies with poor labor practices. Getting sales in any industry can be extremely competitive, but especially in the retail and grocery sectors. Selling store brands is challenging as well, and this requires a strong trust in your brand to choose it over other brands with larger advertising budgets. Building this trust requires excellence, and that can be achieved with amazing industry awards.

However winning business awards need not necessarily be focused strictly on the consumer or your business partners. There are many hidden benefits as well. These benefits include improved morale. No one wants to work for a poorly performing company or an underachiever in their field. Everyone wants to work for a winning company that is a leader in their field. As such, winning awards for your company can boost morale in ways that other perks can’t. For example, paying your employees top salaries is clearly the classic way to keep them motivated, but if their efforts are continuously failing and the business as a whole is not doing well, they will eventually become discouraged no matter how much you pay them.

Clearly, therefore, business awards are great to have. They bring recognition from your peers and other people in the industry, motivate your employees to work diligently to preserve and win new acclimations, and they also work very well for marketing. The latter may seem like the most important – and certainly the most tangible bonus that comes with winning a prestigious award – but if you analyze it, the boosts to morale and recognition from your industry peers can be just as beneficial to your corporate interests. Using Impulse products and services will help you find the best awards for your company and streamline your operations so that you can win those awards. If you’re looking to build the best business around, we would highly recommend that you start applying for some awards. Your employees, marketing department, and bottom line will be very thankful that you did.
